About Our Church
Incorporated as a branch church in 1914, Sixteenth Church broke ground in 1922 and held its inaugural service in 1924.  The current edifice (at the corner of Ridge and Greenleaf) has served as the church's home since 1985, with the first service being held on the eve of Thanksgiving in 1986.
Christian Scientists believe that only through prayer and understanding God will healing be demonstrated.  Mrs. Eddy discovered Christian Science after a near-fatal injury was healed through prayer and focused study of The Bible.  Mrs. Eddy's textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, was published in 1875, and is studied by members of the Church, as well as read from during both Sunday and Wednesday services. The Bible and Science and Health are the primary texts used in the study of Christian Science.
We welcome your presence at our Sunday morning church services, and our Wednesday evening testimony meetings.  For more information on our services, Sunday School classes, and Reading Room hours, please click on the "Services and Reading Room" link in the top right-hand corner of this page.
